Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology

Dr. Jamie Capal is an associate professor of pediatrics and neurology and a neurodevelopmental disabilities specialist in the UNC School of Medicine and at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. Her clinical and research activities focus on neurogenetic conditions that result in impairments across the lifespan, such as Tuberous Sclerosis, Neurofibromatosis, and Angelman Syndrome. Dr. Capal has a passion for helping individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families navigate the medical system, providing continuity and comprehensive care. Her combined training in pediatrics, child neurology, and neurodevelopmental disabilities places her in a unique position to provide comprehensive care to children with neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral disorders.
